Law on professional activity

03.12.2022 | Wiadomości

The Ministry of Family and Social Policy, with the aim of modernizing and increasing the efficiency of labor offices and entities responsible for activating the unemployed, has prepared a draft law on labor activation. It currently remains at the consultation stage.

It assumes, first and foremost, the separation of Social Security notifications from unemployment status. This will streamline the activities of the offices, whose focus will shift from health insurance, to the problems of unemployment in Poland.

In addition, the draft provides for a number of changes in the service and support of the unemployed and job seekers. These include the introduction of a voucher for lifelong learning, consisting of the starost's financing of dues to a training institution for the implementation of training, or financing of dues to an institution implementing postgraduate studies. Instruments have also been used that will allow an individual approach to each unemployed person.

The draft also envisages very broad powers for employment promotion authorities to assist parents returning to the labor market or unemployed persons caring for a dependent. Ample support is also provided for the long-term unemployed.
