The Sejm adopted an amendment to the Labor Code regarding sobriety tests and remote work on January 10, 2023. The bill is now waiting for the president's signature.
The regulations regarding sobriety tests may come into force in January 2023, while the regulations regarding remote work will come into force in late March or early April 2023.
1. Sobriety check
The employer may introduce sobriety tests for employees or tests for the presence of substances with a similar effect to alcohol in their bodies if this is necessary to ensure the protection of the life and health of employees or other persons or the protection of property.

2. Remote work
The definition of remote work specifies that it is work that can be performed wholly or partially at a place indicated by the employee and agreed upon with the employer in each case, including at the employee's home address, in particular using means of direct distance communication.
