On September 15, 2020, the Council of Ministers adopted a regulation on the minimum wage and the minimum hourly rate in 2021.

In 2021, the minimum wage will be PLN 2,800. This represents an increase of PLN 200 compared to the minimum wage in force in 2020 (PLN 2,600).

The increase in the minimum wage also increases the minimum hourly rate for certain civil law contracts. Pursuant to a decision by the Council of Ministers, the hourly rate will increase in 2021 from PLN 17 to PLN 18.30, an increase of PLN 1.30.

From the point of view of employers, the introduced changes are extremely important, as the minimum wage rate affects the amount free from deductions, compensation regulated by the Labor Code, severance pay for collective redundancies and the allowance for night work.
